Recycle Blinds is an non-profit organization   founded in 2009 by Brooke Donelson, age 13.  I just want to help create a green new world.  My mother Leanne has a small business  selling new *Norman Brand shutters and blinds for homes in the Houston area.  When I asked her what happened to the old blinds, my mom said "I guess the people just throw them away."  I hated the idea of having perfectly good blinds and shutters being added into our landfills.  I did some research and found out that organizations like 'Habitat for Humanity' could use the blinds and shutters.

Now when new *Norman shutters or   blinds are placed in homes in the Houston area by Donelson Designs my mom and I have the old blinds transported to the ReStore Habitat for Humanity located on Highway 249 in Houston, Texas.

This service actually enables the home owners to receive a tax credit for their donations!  Everyone wins!  Please contact any Habitat for Humanity  for donations of used lights, sinks, dishwashers, doors any thing to do with building a home or even furniture.   They really love new products and always need land, but will consider many new and used building items.  Please no damaged products.

Habitat ReStores

Habitat ReStores are retail outlets where quality, used and surplus building materials are sold at a fraction of normal prices. Proceeds from ReStores help local affiliates fund the construction of Habitat houses within the community. Many affiliates across the United States and Canada operate successful ReStores—some of which raise enough funds to build an additional 10 or more houses per year.

Materials sold by Habitat ReStores are usually donated from building  supply stores, contractors, demolition crews or from individuals who wish to show their support for Habitat. In addition to raising funds, ReStores help the environment by rechanneling good, usable materials into use.

Donate Building Supplies If you or your company have materials to donate to a Habitat ReStore, please contact your local restore. U.S. Restores . You can make a difference.
